Description
Mesa is a midweight 100% hemp canvas with a firm, durable handle and clean ivory tone. The weave is tight and structured, giving the fabric strength and definition without unnecessary bulk.
At 390gsm, it has the body required for upholstery and hard-wearing applications. It performs well for cushions, durable soft furnishings and structured clothing where resilience matters. The plain surface keeps the look straightforward, allowing the strength of the hemp canvas to speak for itself.

This fabric is manufactured in China. Hemp has deep roots in China — it is thought to be the first place on earth where the plant was cultivated for fibre. That history has shaped generations of expertise, and today China remains a world leader in hemp textiles.
The hemp for our Chinese fabrics originates from small, family-run farms in regions where the soil and climate are ideal for hemp cultivation. These growers use natural, low-impact methods; while organic certification is often out of reach due to cost, their farming practices closely follow organic principles.
The mills we work with have extensive experience and manage the hemp supply chain from plant to finished fabric, ensuring consistent quality and traceability. The majority of our Chinese fabrics are made with organically grown hemp. When blended with Cotton this is GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) certified organic cotton from Turkey. The mill has GOTS and OCS (Organic Content Standard) certification, although the individual fabrics do not have organic certificates available.
Delivery + Returns
Orders will be cut and shipped within two days from receiving your order.
Samples are sent using Royal Mail Tracked 48 service. This is free of charge.
Please select at checkout whether you would like your fabric sent folded or rolled.
Folded fabrics and Trim are charged at £5.95 and rolled fabrics at £12.95.
Next Day orders placed before 1pm are sent via DPD or another courier. Folded and Trim Next Day orders cost £8.95 and fabric rolls £18.
