Description

A beautifully soft, lightweight hemp fabric in Black with a breathable open weave and natural drape. At 210gsm, it offers gentle structure while remaining airy and fluid in movement.

The deep black tone enhances the texture of the weave, giving subtle depth and quiet definition to the surface. Its relaxed handle is reminiscent of fine linen, making it well suited to curtains, clothing and light interior applications where softness and natural character are desired.

Woven from 100% hemp, it combines durability with breathability and long-term performance — designed for interiors and garments where material integrity and understated elegance matter.

This fabric is produced in Eastern Europe, in a region with a long tradition of textile craftsmanship, where natural fibre weaving has been part of local heritage for centuries. Today, that expertise continues through mills that combine traditional knowledge with modern, responsible production methods.

The hemp used in these fabrics is grown organically in Europe, primarily in France, the Netherlands, and Germany, before being spun, woven, and finished in Eastern Europe.

Finishing processes are designed to achieve softness, stability, and a clean, refined appearance. Lighter fabrics are gently bleached using oxygen-based systems, recognised as among the most environmentally responsible in the textile industry. Some fabrics are left undyed to preserve the natural colour of the hemp, while others are dyed with fibre-reactive dyes selected for their colourfastness and safety.

All processes meet OEKO-TEX Class 1 standards — the strictest level of certification, confirming the fabrics are safe even for infants. Each fabric is mechanically softened and stabilised to ensure a smooth handle, consistent width, and balanced structure — the result of careful finishing rooted in skill, quality, and environmental responsibility.
Delivery + Returns

Orders will be cut and shipped within two days from receiving your order.

Samples are sent using Royal Mail Tracked 48 service. This is free of charge.

Please select at checkout whether you would like your fabric sent folded or rolled.

Folded fabrics and Trim are charged at £5.95 and rolled fabrics at £12.95.

Next Day orders placed before 1pm are sent via DPD or another courier. Folded and Trim Next Day orders cost £8.95 and fabric rolls £18.
